About McCall’s patterns
McCall’s started designing and printing patterns in 1870. James McCall, the founder, started up his own magazine company in order to advertise his patterns, and thus a renowned fashion magazine began. The magazine was initially named The Queen: Illustrating McCall’s Bazaar Glove-Fitting Patterns, and the magazine was still in publication – under Rosie O’Donnell, and named Rosie – until it folded in 2003.
