Vintage 1940s floral dress with matching belt, in pink, with a whimsical floral pattern in grey white and black.

This gorgeous handmade dress has all the things you expect to see in a garment from the era, including hand stitching in places, hand-stitched loops (eyes) for the hooks, and hand-sewn plastic buttons.

The style is beautiful; it’s fitted on the bust and pleated – including box pleats either side on the front and one centrally on the back – at the waist. The neck is square, and the dress opens at the front with buttons all the way down to the hem (button-through). At the top of the buttons and at the waist there are hooks and loops. The hem is turned up about an inch and a half so it could be let down a little if necessary. A beautiful gown, with a lovely sway when worn.

Label Says: n/a none present

Condition: Very good vintage condition; handmade – and over 70 years old – so expect a couple of loose threads but extremely great dressmaking! One tiny spot of discolouration on the front which is super hard to see. The matching belt has five eyelets and one of them is missing the metal back and the pin on the belt clap has tarnished (but it doesn’t affect wear at all). Please see the pictures.
